The Centaur Home Interest exhibitions portfolio comprises established homebuilding and renovating shows across the UK.  The events have been running for more than 22 years.

The Homebuilding & Renovating Shows take place in seven locations across the UK – Birmingham, Glasgow, Esher in Surrey, London, Edinburgh, Harrogate and Bath & West Showground in Somerset. Edinburgh was launched in 2014 and in 2015 the London event relocated from the Grand Hall, Olympia to ExCel in Docklands.

We have worked on the Homebuilding & Renovating Shows since the beginning of 2013 and in April 2015 we were re-appointed to provide event services for eighteen of Centaur’s Home Interest shows between September 2015 and November 2017. We principally provide modular shell scheme, features, electrics and graphic services at the seven annual events.

The exhibitions attract an affluent audience of visitors aspiring to create their own individual homes. The 2015 exhibitions attracted over 88,000 visitors and highlights included The Self Build Theatre and advice clinics including Ask the Architects and Ask the Experts.

The main objectives of the brief was to maintain the standard of customer service offered to exhibitors in previous years as well as ensuring consistence of the look and feel of the shows throughout. Quality products backed up by a high level of service to both our organiser and exhibitor customers.

Although the London show was in a new venue this year, we didn’t anticipate any problems. However in order to make sure everything ran smoothly we undertook access planning and an on-site survey - as we do before every event, no matter what the venue. The turnaround for the venue was quite tight so we also needed to be strict with timescales.

The other major change for this year was the layout and re-fresh of the theatre areas.  We provided design options and managed the construction to the agreed specification, which will be rolled out across the 2016/17 shows. As part of an on-going review, we are working with the organisers to ensure all aspects of the show are relevant and in-keeping with current trends.

The London show’s move from Olympia to ExCel was a success and we now look forward to being back at the NEC, Birmingham in mid-April for the first of the 2016 events.

Emily Wardill, Head of Operations at Centaur Media PLC said: “Joe Manby Limited feels like an extension of our team. Working with them is always collaborative and as a result, very straight forward. They are mindful of our financial constraints and will always provide a suitable solution to any brief as well as being quick to respond to any queries. The success of the seven shows and the smooth move to ExCel this year is credit to them and their meticulous planning. They are a joy to work with and we look forward to working with them again for the next show in April.”
