Event service specialist Joe Manby Limited has helped the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) to celebrate its centenary at its International Centenary Conference held at London’s QEII Centre (22-23 November).
As part of its three year partnership with the RCN, the Harrogate-based events services company supplied exhibition shell schemes and services for the event which brought together delegates and health care leaders from across the world.
The two day programme reflected on the past 100 years of nursing, as well as the challenges and opportunities faced by the profession in the future, while celebrating the RCN’s centenary. Health care leaders from around the world delivered keynote speeches on the core themes of technology, innovation, society, communities and relationships
One popular feature of the conference was the gallery area built by Joe Manby Limited to display the public’s photographs depicting 100 years of the RCN and different facets of nursing.
Joe Manby Limited was re-appointed as the RCN’s official event services partner last year to supply event services to its annual congresses and conferences over three years. The annual RCN Congress will take place at the ACC Liverpool in 2017 and the Waterfront Belfast in 2018.
Steven Jenkinson, Conference and Events Manager at the Royal College of Nursing, said: “2016 was a momentous year for the Royal College of Nursing and, together with the annual congress, the centenary conference was a much anticipated highlight in the nursing calendar. The RCN has worked with Joe Manby Limited for the past four years and really values the firm’s meticulous planning and attention to detail which ensures the successful delivery of such key events.”
Richard Manby added: “Only last week, a national veracity poll showed that Britain’s nurses are officially the most trusted professionals in the country and we were delighted to be able to play our part in helping such a well-respected organisation celebrate its 100th anniversary.”
